Daily Schedule and Curriculum

The CAS curriculum, designed to meet the goals of our program, provides a variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports and games, music, dramatic play, building and transportation, cooking, science and discovery, math and literature, fitness and wellness activities, special interest areas and special events. Activities are planned to meet the needs and interests of the children. A calendar of planned events is available each month.

The children’s daily schedule is flexible enough to provide adaptability but structured enough to provide predictability for the children. Times may vary at each site, but a typical schedule is:

Before School

Before School programs are offered at Evening Street, Liberty, Slate Hill, Wilson Hill, Worthington Estates and Worthington Hills.

7:00 AM - 7:45 AM	Breakfast snack available
7:30 AM – 8:00 AM	Choice of scheduled activities
8:00 AM	Departure for school

After School

School dismissal – 4:00 PM	Arrival of students: free play; group time; snack; homework; outdoor play
4:00 PM-5:00 PM	Activity Time (choice of scheduled small group activities): Creative Arts Activities (arts & crafts, drama, music, etc.) Physical Activities/Sports (fitness, team games, dance, etc.) Special events (theme days, celebrations, performances, special guests, etc.) Special Interest Activities: Enrichment activities (science, math, reading, writing, etc.) Hobbies (collections, cooking, gardening, knitting, nature, building and transportation, chess, puzzles, etc.)
5:00 PM – 5:30 PM	Free Play
5:30 PM – 5:45 PM	Clean up and preparation for departure
5:45 PM	Program ends, departure of children
6:00 PM	Departure of staff
